Running for Rewire

On Sunday October 15th, our two facilitators of the Rewire Musical Memories Choirs – Nick and Zara – are running in events as part of the Melbourne Marathon to raise funds for the choirs! Nick is braving the half marathon, while Zara is attempting a 10km!

The Rewire Musical Memories Choirs are therapeutically designed and run inclusive community choirs for people living with a diagnosis of dementia and their supporters. The choirs are run by Registered Music Therapists, and provide an accessible space for participants to connect socially, exercise their bodies and minds, share memories and learn new skills.

The choirs are funded through a combination of membership fees and philanthropic funding. Funds raised will go towards the facilitation and running of the choirs, venue hire, equipment and provisions for weekly rehearsals, and financial bursaries for members who are unable to afford the standard membership fees.
